1. Introduction

Thank you for downloading this release of Parallels Pro Control Panel 10.3.2 for Linux. This file contains information that supplements the Parallels Pro Control Panel 10.3.2 for Linux documentation such as information on new features, corrected bugs, known problems etc. This file was updated with the latest information available at release time.

2. Installation Instructions

Download the Parallels Pro Control Panel 10.3.2 for Linux Installation Guide from http://www.parallels.com/en/pro/docs and follow the instructions. This guide also contains the instructions on Installing Parallels Pro Control Panel from Virtuozzo Containers Templates.

Important: Before the installation of Parallels Pro Control Panel for Linux from Parallels Virtuozzo Containers templates, please make sure the following conditions are met:

1. Before creating the Containers and installing Parallels Pro Control Panel, log in as root to your Hardware Node, open the /etc/sysconfig/vz file and change the value of VZPRIVRANGE to "1 N" where N is the maximal ID of Container you will be using, for example:

   VZPRIVRANGE="1 10000"

2. When creating the Container, meet the following requirements:
   • It is recommended to use SLM memory scheme
   • Allocate minimum 396 MB of RAM. Recommended 512MB and 1024 if tomcat4 is used.
   • PPCP requires at least DISKINODES="200000:220000"
   • PPCP requires at least DISKSPACE="2097154:2097154"
   • PPCP requires at least QUOTAUGIDLIMIT="900"
   • It is not recommended to use Application templates before you install Parallels Pro CP.
   • Make sure the quotaugidlimit disk resource is enabled for a container.

   • Before proceeding with the Containers installation, make sure that the hostname -i command doesn't return the 127.0.0.1 IP.

3. Upgrade Instructions

4. What's New

1. [+] Implemented Virtuozzo Containers Templates for the product.

2. [+] Introduced CLI for managing MX DNS records.

3. [+] The uw-imap package has been updated to version 2007b. Connection via SSL2 is disabled.

4. [+] Introduced CLI API for managing catch-all mailbox aliases.

5. [-] Fixed creation of default catch-all mailbox alias: now it is disabled by default. To enable, remove the /etc/virtualhosting/nocatchall file.

6. [+] Introduced new default site pages in Parallels style.

7. [-] Fixed AnnounceIt feature: now it can be disabled or enabled correctly.

8. [-] New Parallels logo is now shown in Skins Preview.

9. [-] Fixed the problem with MailScanner when if it was stopped in GUI it didn't start after the box restart.

10. [-] Fixed the issue with counting the pages, when there were more than 100 mailbox aliases shown in 50 or more per page.

11. [-] Design fixes in Reseller and Server Administrator interface for XP Reloaded skin.

5. Known Problems and Limitations

1. During operations on virtual filesystem Invalid cross-device link errors can be produced. Solution KB 5565
2. Freshclam process starts despite ClamAV disabled. Solution KB 5566
3. Problem with shared libraries when importing sites from Parallels Pro 4.x 32 bit to Parallels Pro 10.3.x 64 bit. Solution KB 5564
4. Problem with resuming a site previously imported from Parallels Pro for Linux 4.x. Solution KB 5766
5. Parallels Pro Control Panel 10.3.2 installed from Virtuozzo Containers template needs additional actions to be performed when adding an IP based site if the container has a host-routed set. For more information, refer to the section Creating an IP-based Site of Parallels Pro Control Panel for Linux 10.3.2 Quick Start Tutorial for Service Provider at Parallels Pro Control Panel documentation page.
6. Upgrade may fail when httpd was not stopped before the upgrade.
7. Installation of the nsim-postnuke package fails on x86_64 architecture.
8. Parallels Pro Control Panel cannot be installed on FC 6/ FC 4/ RHEL 5/ RHEL 4/ CentOS 5.0/ CentOS 4.4 systems enabled with SELinux.
9. Creating sub-folders under the Inbox folder, using the email client Microsoft Outlook, fails with an error. This is a known limitation with the email client Microsoft Outlook.
10. Parallels Pro Control Panel supports the Python version that is packaged with the operating system you install on the server. You can upgrade Python to updates released by the operating system at any time, however, you must not upgrade Python to a version that is not supported by the operating system you installed on the server.
11. Parallels Pro Control Panel does not support InnoDB tables with MySQL databases. Importing sites that have InnoDB tables causes the process to fail with errors.
12. Attempts to add or update the zone records created manually using the Add New Zone option (Zone List page) in Parallels Pro Control Panel fails returning the user to the DNS configuration page.
    Solution: To resolve the issue, log in as the root user to the Parallels Pro Control Panel server, and restart the BIND service by running the following commands:
    rndc reload
    service named restart
13. Parallels Pro Control Panel fails to upgrade SpamAssassin version 3.0.1 (installed by default with RHEL 4/ CentOS 4.4) to the required version 3.0.3.
14. The Parallels Pro Control Panel services fail on FC 6 servers, because of dependencies issues of the kernel-xen RPM. Solution: To resolve the issue, ensure that the virtualization option is not selected while installing Fedora Core 6.
